I've been trying to develop a new habit lately and it's helping me gain a little bit of perspective on life.
At the beginning of each day, I ask myself a question:
How do I want to feel at the end of the day?
How do I want to feel about my mothering?
How do I want to feel about my marriage?
How do I want to feel about how I spent my time?
I try to picture myself at the end of the day, just before going to bed.
How will I feel about my day?
It helps me imagine my experiences and my day ahead of time.
Showing up the way I want to show up, regardless of how others treat me.
Regardless of what life throws my way.
When I take the time to do this--and it only takes a minute or two--it helps me show up in my life more fully as the kind of person that I want to be.
