As I've mentioned, my family recently made a 2,500 mile move.
We have had the great opportunity to live in some of the most beautiful places in the country.
Each place holds a piece of my heart.
Last month, when we drove away from my children's school, I felt so grateful to have been part of such an amazing place.
My children loaded up in our van with bags of goodbye gifts and cards.
Teachers and parents and students from our sweet K-8 school came outside to bid us all farewell.
It was an emotional experience.
As we drove away, I looked in the back seat and saw tears streaming down my daughter's face.
She has been the most resistant to the move of all our children.
My heart started to ache for her as our eyes met:
"Mom," she quietly spoke...
"I'm not crying because I'm sad. I'm crying because I never knew they loved me that much! These are happy tears!"
Maine, we love you right back.
A piece of our hearts will always be there with you.
